USB Wristbands – Ideal For Schools
As Bolsover School have discovered branded USB wristbands are a great idea for students and they add a slightly different twist to the usual USB flash drives
Bolsover School ordered these stunning USB wristbands in a variety of colours, to allow the pupils to buy a colour, which they associate with their year or house group. The USB wristbands work just like any conventional flash drive but with these the USB connector and memory is embedded in the clasp. They are available in a wide range of memory sizes from 128MB all the way up to 16GB and as you can see from these images they come in a number of different colours.
Today the use of USB flash drives in school is incredibly common because more and more students use PC’s at school and home and they want a convenient way of carrying their work around with them. The USB wristband is just a “cooler” version of the conventional flash drive and taps into the current appetite for wristbands and bracelets.
Times have certainly changed over the past couple of decades. In the 1970’s the closest students got to using technology was a slide rule and if they were very lucky a calculator albeit the use of calculators by many teachers was frowned upon. Today not only are students given pretty much free access to PC’s and Macs but they are mandated to use calculators in certain lessons. Much of the students work (and research is PC and web based) and so the ability to save their work (and to back it up) is critical.
Of course USB wristbands are not exclusively for use in school and colleges. There are all sorts of areas where the USB wristbands can be used either make a big visual impact (a press event or product launch) or as a promotional giveaway where they fit with the profile of your target audience. USB wristbands were used to good effect by the News Of The World when they promoted the launch of the latest in the Twilight series. They also pre-loaded the wristbands with an interactive preview of the book Vampires Vs Werewolves – to add a bit of extra spice to the promotion they produced two versions (one for werewolves and one for vampires) so you could show your allegiance publicly.
Wristbands are clearly one of those things that are “of the moment” but they are also a very functional and attractive way to carry your data and files around with you and they make great giveaways!
